WHAT'S NEW THE CHART SHOW ABOUT US
ABOUT USWHO THE HELL ARE REPUTATION Enquiring minds are always asking us questions about who we are what do we do and the personal fav of mine why are you doing this ? To be honest I could ramble on all day about this and those of you who know me will agree to that..lol so I will just give a brief run down as to what Reputation is all about and how we started and where we will be going.................................................................................................................................................... We started out a few years back as a small live music promotions team organising live events and sorting out the batterd ego's of many a would be rock star... This became extemely tedious and to be really honest my patience was running very thin with bands who expected everything for nothing and not prepared to do any work for themselves at all..There's a lot of them out there and needless to say a lot do not survive mainly due to that kind of attitude .We considerd ourselves to be dedicated and passionate about the unsigned new music around and decided one of the best ways to get the music heard was to surrender to the Internet, and believe me back then we fought long and hard not to become a part of the Information Super Highway.!! Known back then as Nervetonic Promotions we started out on Myspace writing blogs and reviews on gigs we had attended and basicaly backing up and shouting out about the bands we knew of..As we looked around the Internet we found we were not alone..There were millions of us all doing the same bloody thing and all bumping into each other saying the same old stuff..lolWe had to find a better way of getting the music heard above the usual drudge of so-called promotors. Years ago for my sins I worked on various Radio Stations as back up DJ and all round ''Gofor'' you know John go for this ...go for that !! but I did pick up some usefull and handy tips about radio production and presentation , So we decided to do a Podcast radio style show playing the bands music he had and see what this would do for the profiles of the bands we were promoting at the time. Well to be honest we sat back after our first two shows and laughed our heads off as we got over 100 feed view listners to our Pod cast show..wow we thought that's 50 more than we received just writing about the bands..A month went by and around 5 more shows saw our weekly listning figures rise we were now getting around a thousand regular listners a week..So we decided to take this one step further and started to promote ourselves a bit harder..Basic push push push on other bands sites with our podcast player saw a growing syndication of our shows being heard accross some Myspace music sites. One afternoon whilst answering some myspace emails from bands wishing us to play their music I came accross an email from the Myspace team asking us about information as to what we were about..''Oh shit '' I thought are we in trouble ?It turned out that Myspace were doing a simular thing on the network linked up with Mars Planets choc sweets and wanted to know if we would be interested in submitting some of our shows..Oh my god I thought Cheeky fuckers..lolNow I had some people saying Johnny you should do this it would be good for Nervetonic and I did agree , but something inside didnt feel right , so I wrote back and asked if I could have some advertising space with them and time to think..The lovely people at Myspace said yes and gave me some front Myspace advertisment with flashy banner..lol and this had an amazing reaction to our profile.. Myspace even created our new myspace page for us and promoted our show for a month on the new Myspace radio show..All good for us and with the decline of their offer of us to produce some shows they quickly pulled the adds..lolThats life but boy our figures went up we were now getting over5000 regular listners to our podcast a week. We decided to progress on and had a name change logo change out with the old and all that malarky... Nervecast was bornThe Nervecast Show became the front of our operation continuing to promote the best unsigned and new music with more and more bands wanting our help..Our directive was if we played your music you hosted our podcast player on your myspace site,..This lead to more and more listners hearing our show and the great new music we played.Acuvi the world famous Internet Music Blogger joined in the fun and we started to share the reviews of Acuvi as she featured some fantastic european artists, (we still work with Acuvi today in fact things are in the pipe line for 2010 to progress with this fantastic writer and us..) Things got better and better we were hearing our show being played on Japanese Radio stations Australian tv shows and even the mighty Howard Stern played 10 mins of one of our Podcasts & ''slagged it off '' by saying we were ''limey shits playing at being him''..lol This was just the ticket we needed and we loved it. Howard emailed me soon afterwards to explain that it's all showbiz..loland said he would be playing some more the following week, Well our listner figures went interstella we now received over2 million listners a week to our little 30 min podcast going out once a week and we were growing fast. More and more artists wanted us to feature them and soon we got some local press attention this was great as our profile was boosted but even better for the artists as we do this to boost their profiles..Things went swimingly as we gained the services of Inclination Online magazine, back then known as Inclination Webzine run and edited by Lissy MacMillan in Chicago it was a new venture for her and we jumped on board, Growing by the day and getting bigger and bigger we joined forces with Inclination to form a new union in the Christmas of 2009 Reputation was born..A brand new era and a brand new image. and we became Reputation Media Things have a weired way of working out , we collected a bit of ''dead wood'' along the route.A couple of radio show crews and a bum deal with a recording studio taught us not to believe all you hear on an e-mail..and to watch a lot closer as to what is really going on.With this and in March of 2010 the rather odd direction of Inclination Magazine to concentrate upon a direction of the Underground scene, we felt it was time to go alone in the production stakes..And bid Inclination a farewell wishing them all the best and luck in their new directionWe continue to work alongside the wonderful and very professional companies such as Inspire-U Records ,Midlands Music Maniacs , British Breakfast and the fantastic Acuvi Review...VIVA LE REPUTATION ! Things will continue to improve with Reputation as we see the launch of the Labels music to profile the excellent sounds the bands make. The Toniks and The Zone are our first artists to emerge and we will be keeping you all updated on their events as it happens....The Live Events planned for 2010 in the UK and Europe with new addition to the family Kronos Productions joining the Reputation family too will see the profile of Reputation rise higher and higher..WE CONTINUE TO PROMOTE THE NEW MUSIC AND BRING TOGETHER THE UNION OF THE ARTIST AND THE LISTNERAS WE STIVE TO BRING BACK THE PASSION OF GOOD MUSIC IN 2010........ ?
